1. What is the 'Death Box' Campaign all about?
This campaign is aimed at students from schools and colleges around Malaysia to initiate environmental and health awareness and take action within their schools, colleges and community.
Last's years Climate Change Conference 2009, held in Copenhagen fell short expectations when world leaders failed in coming to an agreement in tackling environmental issues. It is time to realise that we can't just rely on them to make decisions for us. We need to take action by making changes in our own lives just like the lyrics from one of The Death Cab songs which goes like this " I'm starting with the man in the mirror".
2. How does this work?
The campaign's objective is to encourage Malaysian youths to create awareness and start taking action to tackle environmental and health issues regarding polystyrene usage. Besides, this campaign heavily relies on the use of the internet, incorporating social media such as Facebook and Twitter. As one of the major users of these websites, youths would be able to put their knowledge and experience in social media to good use.
